Quote of the week.....
"I never talked with someone but sincerely wished that Allah keep him, protect him from sin and misdeed and guide him; and I never debated with someone but sincerely wished that we would come upon truth, regardless of whether he or I should be the one to think of it first."

From the Quran.....(This tafseer is Agreed upon by Ibn Kathir, Qurtabi and At Tabrani)

Al-Qur'aan, Surah#3 Aal `Imraan, Ayat #104
"Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining al-ma`roof [i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do] and forbidding al-Munkar [polytheism and disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden]. And it is they who are successful."

Al-Qur'aan, Surah  #3 Aal `Imraan, Ayat #110
You [true believers in Islâmic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad SAW and his Sunnah (legal ways, etc.)] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma'rûf (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and all that Islâm has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islâm has forbidden), and you believe in Allâh[]. And had the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) believed, it would have been better for them; among them are some who have faith, but most of them are Al-Fâsiqûn (disobedient to Allâh - and rebellious against Allâh's Command).

Al-Qur'aan, Surah #4 An-Nisâ',  Ayat #110
There is no good in most of their secret talks save (in) him who orders Sadaqah (charity in Allâh's Cause), or Ma'rûf (Islâmic Monotheism and all the good and righteous deeds which Allâh has ordained), or conciliation between mankind, and he who does this, seeking the good Pleasure of Allâh, We shall give him a great reward.

Al-Qur'aan, SuratYusuf # 12 ayah #108
"Say you (O Muhammad): 'This is my way; I invite unto Allah (i.e. to the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) with sure knowledge, I and whosoever follows me (also must invite others to Allah i.e. to the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) with sure knowledge. And Glorified and Exalted be Allah (above all that they associate as partners with Him). And I am not of the Mushrikoon (polytheists; those who worship others along with Allah or set up rivals or partners to Allah).'"

Al-Qur'aan, Surat an-Nisaa' #16 Ayat #125
"Invite to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided."

Al-Qur'aan, Surat Fussilat #41 Ayat #33
"And who is better in speech than he who invites to Allah and does righteous deeds, and says: 'I am one of the Muslims."

Al-Qur'aan, Surat #28 Ayat #87
"Call (mankind) unto your Lord, and be not of those who ascribe partners (unto Him)"

Al-Qur'aan, Surat #6 Ayats 163-164
"Say: Lo ! my worship and my sacrifice and my living and my dying are for Allaah, Lord of the Worlds. He has no partner. This am I commanded, and I am first of those who surrender (into Him)."

Al-Qur'aan, Sura #51  Ayah #55
"And remind (by preaching the Qur'ân, O Muhammad SAW) for verily, the reminding profits the believers."

Al-Qur'aan, Sura #20  Ayah #132
"And enjoin As-Salât (the prayer) on your family, and be patient in offering them [i.e. the Salât (prayers)]. We ask not of you a provision (i.e. to give Us something: money, etc.); We provide for you. And the good end (i.e. Paradise) is for the Muttaqûn (pious)."

Al-Qur'aan, Sura #31  Ayah #17
"O my son! (Luqmân is advising to his son) AqimisSalât (perform AsSalât), enjoin (people) for AlMa'rûf (Islâmic Monotheism and all that is good), and forbid (people) from AlMunkar (i.e. disbelief in the Oneness of Allâh, polytheism of all kinds and all that is evil and bad), and bear with patience whatever befall you. Verily! These are some of the important commandments ordered by Allâh with no exemption.

From the Hadith.....

Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 2, Book 23, Hadith # 478
Narrated Ibn Abbas (RAA) realtes "Rasulullah (SAW) sent Muadh to Yemen and said, "Invite the people to testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and I am Allah's Apostle, and if they obey you to do so, then teach them that Allah has enjoined on them five prayers in every day and night (in twenty-four hours), and if they obey you to do so, then teach them that Allah has made it obligatory for them to pay the Zakat from their property and it is to be taken from the wealthy among them and given to the poor."

Sahih Muslim Book 1, Hadith # 0079 (Agreed upon by Imaam Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and in Riyadh-us-saleheen vol #1 page #127)
Abu Sa'id Khudri (Radhiallaahu Anhu) relates that he heard Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) saying: 'Whosoever from among you witnesses evil, he should change it with his hands. And if he is unable to do so then he should change it with his tongue. And if he is unable to do so with his tongue, then he should at least consider it to be wrong. And this is the weakest stage of Imaan.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 8, Book 73, Hadith # 50
Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah (Radhiallaahu Anhu) That Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said "Enjoining, all that is good is a Sadaqa."

Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 3, Book 44, Hadith # 673 ( Agreed upon by Imaam Muslim and Tirmidhi aslo in Mishkaat vol# 2 Page#436 and in Riyadh-us-saleheen vol#1 page128)
Hadhrat Nu'maan bin Basheer (Radhiallaahu Anhu) says that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said "The example of the person abiding by Allah's order and restrictions in comparison to those who violate them is like the example of those persons who drew lots for their seats in a boat. Some of them got seats in the upper part, and the others in the lower. When the latter needed water, they had to go up to bring water (and that troubled the others), so they said, 'Let us make a hole in our share of the ship (and get water) saving those who are above us from troubling them. So, if the people in the upper part left the others do what they had suggested, all the people of the ship would be destroyed, but if they prevented them, both parties would be safe."

Sahih Muslim Book 1, Hadith # 0081
Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud  Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) observed: There was never a Prophet sent before me by Allah to his nation who had not among his people (his) disciples and companions who followed his ways and obeyed his command. Then there came after them their successors who said that which they did not practice, and practiced that which they were not commanded to do. He who strove against them with his hand was a believer, he who strove against them with his tongue was a believer, and he who strove against them with his heart was a believer, and beyond that there was no faith, not even as much as a mustard seed

The opinions of the great scholars about the Dawaa...
It is well known that all the Ullima agree that Dawaa is a obligation and responsibility upon the Muslim Ummah.  There is difference of opinion whether it is Fard 'Ayn (obligatory upon every Muslim) or Fard Kifaayah (which is a collective responsibility upon the Muslim ummah, if it is done by some of the ummah other are free from this obligation).  But in our time with the great need for dawaa and not enough people doing it all Ullima agree that it is obligation on every Muslims to do dawaa in some form.  There are many books by many famous Ullima just on the subject of the obligation of dawaa and i couldn't fit all that on one web site but I will just quote one of the greatest Ullima of our time Shaikh AbdulAziz Bin Bazz (Rahimahullah)

Shaikh AbdulAziz Bin Bazz (Rahimahullah)
He always stuck to the Quran and Sunnah and the Manhaj Al-Salaf and Ahl ul-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah
"Scholars have made this point clear that to call the people to the way of Allaah is a collective responsibility (Fard Kifaayah) wherever such persons who are capable to call the people to the way of Allaah are present, because there is need in every corner of the world, in all the areas of different countries, for this movement. When anyone performs this obligatory function others are relieved of this burden of this responsibility but even then it remains essential (Waajib) for the remaining persons to perform it. Its status is like the regular performance of the Sunnah of Rasulullah (SAW) called (Sunnah Mu’akkidah), and this function equals a valuable virtuous action. When the people of the world in general, and inhabitants of those countries where the call has reached in particular, do not stand to help this cause of Allaah, it becomes a general sin. It becomes a collective obligation to fulfil. If remains unfulfilled, it becomes essential for all. So it is necessary that everyone should strive hard to propagate, the message of Allaah according to his status and power. The practice of the Prophet of Allaah (SAW) tells us that he sent groups of preachers, sent letters to the persons and invited the kings and the chiefs to the way of Allaah."
(When asked about it's importance the shaikh explained)
"To enjoin good and forbid the evil is extremely obligatory (Fard 'Ayn) and collective responsibility (Fard Kifaayah) as well."

Fatwaas on Jammat Tabligh

Shaikh. Ibn Uthaimin
This is from a Fatwaa by Shaikh Ibn Uthaimin, who is now the most respected Mufti in Saudia.  He is also one of the foremost to Adherence to the Manhaj Al-Salaf and Ahl ul-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah
"Anyway these people (i.e. Jammat At-Tabligh) have a great effect; no Jammat has done what they have done."

Shaikh AbdulAziz Bin Bazz (Rahimahullah)
This is from Shaikh Ibn Baaz's letter to Shaikh Sad Al-Husayyin regarding his essay refuting Jamaat at-Tabligh
"I wish my brother would go out with them (Jamat-at-Tabligh) so that he can learn from them gentleness instead of severity and learn making duwa for the Muslims instead of duwa against them and learn arguing in the manner which is best instead of speaking evil publicly. Everyone of us is in need of checking himself out and correcting his own manhaj and returning unto Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger in obeying Allah and calling unto Him."

Jamia Binoria
This is a Fatwaa from the Ullima from one of the top Islamic Universities in Pakistan.
Ques: What is your stand on Tabligh Jammat and Tabligh Nisaab?
Ans: Tablighi Jama'at is a group of Ahl-as-Sunnah wal Jama'ah who call people towards faith and good deeds (A'maal-as-Swalihah). Millions of people have benefited from them (experience has proven that). The advantage to work with this Jamaa'at is that a person becomes solid in actions.
Whereas Tablighee Nisaab is the collection of few magazines of Maulana Muhammed Zakariya which are kept by Tablighee Jamaa'at. The reading of these magazines create the passion and desire for good actions. This is good as it produces the desire and feeling for good deeds.

This is from the JAMIATUL ULAMA (KWAZULU-NATAL)
This is a Fatwaa fro the Ullima from one of the top Islamic Universities in South Africa.
“Since there is no Prophet to come, every Ummati of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) is the deputy of the Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) and he has to carry on the mission of the Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam). The people of Tabligh Jamaat sacrifice their time and wealth and comforts to undergo difficulty and hardships to go in the path of Allah - to carry out this Sunnah of the Prophets (Alayhimus salaam) - commanding good and prohibiting evil. One should join them as much as possible.”

Fatwaa from Mufti Aleem Ahsan Aziz, Darul Ifta, Darul Uloom, Karachi.
Q1: For an ordinary Muslim (a businessman, a laborer, a farmer, a professional, etc.) who is not associated with a religious organization, is it Fard, Wajib, or Mustahab to go out for three or forty days, etc. with Jama'ah Tabligh?
A1: Dawah (inviting people to Islam) and Tabligh (conveying the Message) is a collective responsibility of the whole Ummah and an act of great reward as it has been declared a distinguishing characteristic of this Ummah by the Qur'an.

From Justice Mufti Taqi Usmani
In our times when the forces of evil are very active, the work of Tabligh and Dawah has assumed special importance and Masha-Allah Jama'ah Tabligh is, overall, discharging this responsibility very well. Therefore, Muslims should cooperate with them.

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:  I would like to again stress that this page has not been funded or created by any group.  Dawaa can be done in many forms, ullima do dawaa by writing books and teaching about islam, Mujahidden do dawaa but opening the ways blocked by kuffar for Islam and the jammats go around the world calling people toward Allah (swt).  We should respect the brothers taking on this great responsibility and understand this is a obligation form the Quran and Sahih Hadith.  We should try to join with them and help them in spreading the deen of Allah (swt).  And if any of them fall into error or quote something that is not correct them we should correct them with the best of manners and respect.  There should not be any such thing as jammat dawaa or tabligh this is a responsibility for every Muslim as commanded to us in the Quran  "Call (mankind) unto your Lord, and be not of those who ascribe partners (unto Him)" (Qur'aan, Surat #28 Ayat #87).  And I would like to advise the brother who are doing this noble and great effort to stress on using authentic hadith from books like Sahih Al-Bukhari and Riyadh-us-saleheen which are full of fadh'il to be used to call people to Allah (swt) and to stay away from suing weak hadith and books that contain weak hadith like Fadh'il-e-Amaal.  May Allah (swt) reward all the brothers and sisters calling mankind toward the light of Islam and may Allah (swt) guide us all.
And ALLAH(swt) knows best.
